Artist Statement

I am basically an impressionist. Dyslexia has prevented me from getting a formal education in anything. However, after 25 years of trial and error plus numerous trips to several art museums, I have educated myself. Influenced by the likes of Monet, Renoir, Cézanne and Inness, I like bright pastel colors, wide-open spaces and texture.

Originally, I used photography to express my art. But I was always dissatisfied with the results. So I came up with the idea, "If you don't live in a perfect world, create one." That is when I taught myself to paint. I try not to limit myself to any technique or style. If it looks right to me, it's right.
